APRIL 27, 2007, RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA– The Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties (VNAIC) will commemorate “National Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Week” from May 6 – 12. VNA Week aims to raise public awareness about home healthcare and the critical role visiting nurses play in providing comprehensive, affordable services in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. VNAs employ more than 150,000 highly trained professionals who care for more than four million patients nationwide each year. National VNA Week was declared to recognize those nurses, clinicians and healthcare professional dedicated to the VNA mission.
“We are proud that for more than 75 years, the VNAIC have brought high-quality, affordable, community-based healthcare services to people in the comfort of their homes,” said Lynn Campbell, president/CEO of the VNAIC. “National VNA Week celebrates and honors visiting nurses in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and their continued commitment to providing critical healthcare services to local residents.”
“Most people prefer the comfort and security of home for recovering from an illness or injury, and visiting nurses help provide home healthcare services that range from highly skilled and technical nursing care including rehabilitation, to assistance with the essential activities of daily living,” said Paula Peoples, vice president of clinical operations.
VNAIC cares for more than 15,000 patients each year for the last six years.. The Agency provides home health and hospice services for patients of all ages and economic background. Homecare is a cost-effective alternative to expensive care settings, such as hospitals and nursing homes.
