Patti Oxenham, Victorville home health manager of the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties (VNAIC), bested 8 other directors and managers of the organization to win this year’s VNAIC Leadership Award,
The VNAIC Leadership Award recognizes employees in management positions who have contributed to the success of the agency on a daily basis. The nominees demonstrate the following ideals in their work: they are committed to the VNAIC, its mission and values, they provide an atmosphere of motivation and support of employees and all customers, they have low staff turnover and high job satisfaction of staff who report to them, their service has high customer satisfaction and they have excellent outcomes for the services they provide. In addition, nominees for the Leadership Award show successful financial performance in their office or department, empower others, and mentor employees who will become future leaders.
Her nomination reads, in part “Patti possesses a motivating and encouraging attitude when assisting employees in need. She is never too busy to be supportive. Patti’s goal for everyone is excellence in patient care. She is fair and has many, "happy" employeees. Moreover, she encourages employees to cultivate the leadership skills she sees in them. She is calm in the face of adversity, a role model for staff, and very committed to the VNAIC and all it represents.
