Loving Care award winner honored
Matthew Alheim, 15, second from left, was recently honored with a Loving Care award from the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties Victorville Home Health Program. He has been the primary caregiver for his father, Richard Alheim, left, and his mother, Olive Alheim, third from left, since they both received heart transplants. They are pictured with Lena Griggs, right, their nurse case manager. At a young age, he learned complicated medical procedures and has been a constant source of emotional and physical support.
